Our Interviews
The Southern Oral History Program has recorded and collected more than four thousand interviews. We work closely with the librarians at the Southern Historical Collection, who catalog the interviews and make them available to the public on the Carolina campus and online.

Search by subject, name, occupation, ethnicity, or interview number.
Search our interview finding aid.
Take a broad look at our collection and read about each of our projects.

We are working with our partners at the Southern Historical Collection to update both of these resources to make our interviews more accessible and available online. In the meantime, audio and transcripts of more than five hundred select interviews are available through Oral Histories of the American South.
Oral Histories of the American South also offers a podcast of selected excerpts from SOHP interviews. Subscribe here!
